A one-day Sindhudurg District-Level Career Mapping Workshop was successfully organized at Sant Raoul Maharaj College, Kudal, with the joint initiative of the Maharashtra State Department of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra Information Technology Support Centre, and Sant Raoul Maharaj College, Kudal. The workshop aimed to guide students towards the right opportunities in education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and overall career growth.
The program was held under the chairmanship of the college Principal, Dr. Smita Survase. The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Ajit Kanshide, followed by an introductory speech by District Coordinator Dr. Ajit Dighe. Student Anushka Parab shared her views and expectations regarding career opportunities.
During the workshop, Tulshidas Gawade, District Village Industries Officer, Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Board, explained the importance of beekeeping as a supplementary agricultural business, the medicinal uses of honey, and various employment and skill development schemes such as the Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
Yashwant Shitole, Chairman of the Maharashtra Information Technology Support Centre, guided students on the topic “What Do I Want to Do?” He emphasized self-awareness, emotional intelligence (EQ), mentorship, SMART goal setting, and developing a regular reading habit.
Former SBI AGM Bhushan Kolekar provided valuable insights into financial literacy, including the 50%-30%-20% rule, the power of compound growth, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Prompt Engineering, and emerging opportunities in entrepreneurship in the new digital era.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Umesh Kamat. The enthusiastic participation of students made the workshop highly successful. The comprehensive guidance provided during the event helped students gain valuable direction in career planning, skill development, financial management, technology, and entrepreneurship.
