The one-day workshop and Career Katta divisional quarterly review meeting was successfully held under the joint auspices of the Higher and Technical Education Department of Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Information Technology Assistance Centre (MITSC), and Shree Shivaji Vidya Prasarak Sanstha's P. R. Ghogrey Science College, Dhule.
Addressing the event, Mr. Yashwant Shitole, President of MITSC, stated that students should develop the mindset of becoming job creators rather than merely job seekers.
The meeting was presided over by Principal Dr. S. N. Bharambe. Dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In his welcome address, Principal Dr. M. V. Patil outlined the objectives of the Career Katta initiative, urging students to embrace skill development, leadership, a research-oriented mindset, and entrepreneurship alongside traditional education.
During the keynote address, Mr. Yashwant Shitole emphasized the growing importance of skill-based education, startup culture, research, and innovation in a changing global landscape. He encouraged students to prepare to build enterprises based on their own ideas and to take full advantage of various government schemes, training programs, and financial assistance.
The meeting featured detailed sessions on:
Startup establishment processes, research, and product development
Market analysis, financial planning, and effective presentations to investors
Participation guidelines for the upcoming Startup Summit
Employment opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI), agri-preneurship, renewable energy, and solar power
Research culture, skill development, certification courses, and job-oriented training
Students were also encouraged to participate in the Avishkar Research Convention and various state and national-level competitions. The formation of Finance Clubs, Business Clubs, Career Clubs, and Innovation Clubs in colleges was highlighted as a means to foster leadership and entrepreneurship.
An interactive Q&A session was conducted covering startups, research, career planning, add-on courses, and government schemes, where dignitaries addressed student queries and discussed future career opportunities.
Prominent attendees included Principal Dr. Mahendra Raghuvanshi, Prof. Dr. Jayendra Lekurwale, Prof. Dr. Yogita Choudhari, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Patil, Prof. Dr. Sambhaji Patil, Prof. Dr. Rajendra Murlidhar Brahmane, Prof. Dr. D. S. Patil, and Prof. Dr. Patel M. Siddique Nurmohammad, alongside numerous principals, professors, Career Katta coordinators, Career Parliament office-bearers, and students from various districts.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of appointment letters to newly appointed taluka coordinators, followed by the felicitation of the newly appointed Chief Ministers of the Career Parliament.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
