The Career Katta divisional one-day workshop was successfully held in an enthusiastic and disciplined environment under the joint auspices of the Higher and Technical Education Department of Maharashtra, the Maharashtra Information Technology Assistance Centre (MITSC), and Saraswati Bhavan Arts and Commerce College, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The primary objectives of the workshop were to plan various activities under Career Katta for the academic year 2026–27, enhance the effectiveness of divisional and district-level coordination, formulate new initiatives for the holistic development of students, and provide necessary direction and guidance to coordinators.
The programme commenced with the state song "Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha", followed by the traditional welcoming of all dignitaries with flower bouquets. The presence of principals, district coordinators, taluka coordinators, senior professors, and Career Katta coordinators from various districts created a vibrant atmosphere in the auditorium.
Welcome Address: In his opening remarks, Principal Dr. Vivek Mirgane highlighted Career Katta as a crucial initiative for personality development, leadership growth, employability skill enhancement, research, and entrepreneurship. Emphasizing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he noted that Career Katta serves as an effective medium to foster skill development, innovation, startup culture, research inclination, and social responsibility among students, while urging all colleges in the division to implement activities systematically.
Keynote Address: Mr. Yashwant Shitole, Chief Guide of Career Katta, delivered a detailed presentation on the activities slated for the upcoming academic year, outlining the objectives, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes of each initiative.
The workshop featured intensive sessions and planning for several major upcoming initiatives:
Divisional Startup Summit: Plans were finalized to host a grand divisional Startup Summit to foster entrepreneurship, featuring guidance from industry experts, success stories of entrepreneurs, business model creation, financial assistance opportunities, incubation center coordination, and promotion of innovative ideas.
Pre-Avishkar Orientation Workshop: Designed to cultivate a research culture among students, covering research topic selection, research methodology, academic writing, presentation skills, poster presentations, research ethics, and comprehensive guidance for the Avishkar Research Convention. Colleges were urged to encourage maximum student participation.
Faculty Development Programme (FDP): Scheduled from July 27 to August 1, this training will focus on modern educational technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital tools, student-centric teaching methodologies, research capacity building, academic quality enhancement, and effective NEP implementation.
Induction Awareness Week: Special programmes designed to welcome first-year students, introducing them to campus life, Career Katta, NSS, the Student Development Board, scholarship schemes, career opportunities, competitive exams, personality development, and skill enhancement.
Student Development Clubs: A detailed framework was established to set up various student clubs in every college, including:
Innovation Club & Startup Club
Research Club & Reading Club
Leadership Club & Environment Club
Constitution Club & Entrepreneurship Club
These clubs will conduct continuous activities throughout the year.
District-Level Student Dialogues & Workshops: Planning was set in motion to organize district-level workshops providing expert guidance on careers, competitive exams, higher education, startups, research, and employment opportunities.
District Planning Committee: Discussions focused on structural changes, new member selections, responsibility allocation, and strengthening coordination mechanisms, with instructions for districts to hold regular meetings.
Honors and Appointments: Newly appointed taluka coordinators were presented with appointment letters and felicitated with flower bouquets. Similarly, newly appointed Career Parliament Chief Ministers, office-bearers, and coordinators were honored, expressing strong confidence in their leadership for student development activities.
Presidential Address: In his concluding remarks, Principal Dr. Bharat Khandare stated that Career Katta is not merely an employment-oriented initiative, but a comprehensive platform that builds student personality, leadership capability, social accountability, research mindset, and entrepreneurship. He urged all colleges in the division to prioritize mutual coordination, time management, and quality execution to ensure every student connects with Career Katta.
Organizers & Management: The event was effectively organized by Dr. Laxminarayan Kurupatwar and Dr. Vaishali Perke, who managed the schedule seamlessly. Special appreciation was extended to Dr. Kurupatwar for his relentless efforts in making the workshop a success.
Proceedings: The proceedings were anchored by Dr. Panjhade, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Popalghat, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, principals, coordinators, professors, staff, and student representatives.
Conclusion: The workshop concluded with group photographs of all newly appointed Chief Ministers, office-bearers, and dignitaries, followed by a fellowship lunch.
