Role of Higher Education Important in Maharashtra’s Economic Development under “Developed India 2047”; Divisional Award Ceremony Held in Pune

The Pune Divisional Award Distribution Ceremony under the Career Katta initiative was successfully held with great enthusiasm on 26 February 2026. The program was jointly organized by the Higher and Technical Education Department of Maharashtra, Maharashtra Information Technology Support Center, and Haribhai V. Desai College.
On this occasion, a one-day workshop was also organized on the topic “Developed India 2047: Role of National Education Policy and Higher Education in the Economic Development of Maharashtra.”
The program was presided over by Additional District Collector Mr. Rajiv Nandkar, who highlighted the importance of the evolving education policy in his speech.
The inauguration of the program was carried out by Dr. Rajeshbhai Shah, Chairman of Shree Pune Gujarati Kelvani Mandal.
Dr. Prashant Sathe, Vice-Principal of BMCC College, attended the event as the chief guide and elaborated on the role of youth in achieving the vision of Developed India and the significance of the New Education Policy.
The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Dr. Nitin Ghorpade and Dr. Sanjay Kharat, Career Katta Pune Divisional Principal Promoters.
The event was organized by Mr. Yashwant Shitole (President, MITSC), Principal Dr. Rajendra G. Gurav, along with their team.
During the program, colleges and professors from Pune, Ahilyanagar, and Nashik districts were honored for their outstanding performance.
A total of 43 awards were distributed.
Awards were also presented to winners of various Career Katta competitions and initiatives, including:
Reels Competition: 9 awards
AWS Career Tour: 7 awards
Solar Energy Awareness: 6 awards
In total, 22 awards were distributed for competitions.
Additionally, a Food Van was handed over to Vidya Pratishthan College, Baramati, by the dignitaries.
Speakers emphasized that Career Katta has become an effective platform for the holistic development of youth, and such workshops will play a guiding role in implementing the National Education Policy.
The success of the event was made possible due to the dedicated efforts of the Pune Divisional Principal Promoters, Divisional Coordinators, and District Coordinators.
A large number of Career Katta College Principals, Coordinators, Career Parliament Officials, and Education Sector Dignitaries from across the division attended the ceremony.
