Workshop and Divisional Award Distribution Ceremony on “Viksit Bharat 2047” Held at Kamla Nehru College
A one-day workshop and Nagpur Divisional Award Distribution Ceremony on the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047: Role of National Education Policy and Higher Education in the Economic Development of Maharashtra” was successfully organized on Saturday, 14 March 2026 at Kamla Nehru College, Nagpur.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Maharashtra Information Technology Support Center, and Kamla Nehru College, Nagpur.
Under the Career Katta initiative, an annual Career Katta Encouragement Competition was conducted this year as well. During the workshop, colleges, coordinators, principals, and Career Parliament office bearers who performed exceptionally well in the competitions were honored with divisional-level awards.
On this occasion, a guidance discussion was also organized on the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047”, focusing on the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) and higher education in achieving this vision.

The Chief Guest for the event was Amit Bhole (Director, Revenue Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India).

While addressing the gathering, Amit Bhole stated that Career Katta is a very important initiative for students in Maharashtra. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy and helps students develop career awareness and self-confidence.
Yashwant Shitole mentioned that students from the Nagpur Division have performed remarkably under the Career Katta initiative and have created a strong identity at the state level. He encouraged students to continue achieving greater success and set new benchmarks in the future.
During the event, a Food Van was also handed over to the college by the dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sujit Metre (Principal Promoter) said that the Career Katta initiative helps students develop leadership skills, communication skills, and competitiveness. He also expressed hope that in the future, while evaluating colleges, the performance of students in initiatives like Career Katta will also be considered an important parameter.
In his presidential address, Adv. Abhijit Vanjari guided the students and emphasized the importance of strengthening the Career Katta initiative through collective efforts. He encouraged students to explore new opportunities and move forward with confidence.
